![]() How do you know what I've been into? How do you know your data is representative of all 2.0L Turbos? How do you know that FCA posted incorrect data on the torque curves? How do you explain the fact that I have been stopped in 4 high with the wheels still spinning? How do explain the fact I've never experienced what the WK2 or KL 3.2 seems to be experiencing? Why are you comparing a WK2? I suppose that's OK since I'm also comparing to a JL with the 2.0L Turbo that doesn't exhibit the issue.Īgain, show the video apples-to-apples - 3.2L stalling and 2.0L turbo stalling (not spinning). Maybe the 2.0L Turbo is different from the 3.2 in that regard?" That's why I said in the post above: "Never, NEVER had a situation where the engine is whining and no motion from wheels not turning. I believe the torque is overcoming any BLD issues. On top of that, the 2.0L Turbo has more torque and a flatter curve at the low end (Torque 295 lb.-ft. The 2.0L Turbo gets a lower overall gearing (3.734 regardless of trim, just like the 2.4L) vs the 3.2L (3.251 w/o tow package, or 3.517 (w/tow package or Trailhawk). My theroy: is absolutely right about torque. I can't find one, but maybe I didn't look hard enough. Of course, 4 low and locked = continue to top.įind a video that shows either the KL or JL with the 2.0L Turbo having this problem in 4 high. Stopped before top? Sure! Wheels still spinning? Yup. And we both been in 4 high going up loose dirt at least as steep as what's in the videos. It has never happened to my son's JL with the 2.0L Turbo. Point is, it never happened to me in the TH/E with the 2.0L Turbo. That's the wife-limit threshold I'll need to try to exceed. ![]() I have ventured into the fringes of "tough" with the KL. Moab and Phoenix have many trails in the "tough" and "super tough" categories, for sure. The wife has a good calibration of what is "rough" vs "tough". We have been 4-wheeling for longer than I care to admit. I've already pretty much ticked off the wife on the trails I've taken, so I'll need to really push the limits!Īs a reference, I also have a JK Rubicon on 37's that has seen far more super-tough trails than the KL has seen (or ever will). I guess I'll have to push the limits even harder (wife permitting) to see if I can get into a situation where the engine is willing but the drive train won't respond. But that would be a lot of spinning without going anywhere, not a lot of engine RPM and no wheel motion. ![]() and yes - good tires make a lot of difference. Maybe the 2.0L Turbo is different from the 3.2 in that regard? Never, NEVER had a situation where the engine is whining and no motion from wheels not turning. Might as well put it in Lock and climb without drama. Sand/Mud mode? Really haven't found a good use for it yet. Sport mode? Only when I'm feeling the love.or when I'm tired of the lag in Auto mode. Helps that things start out in 2nd and keeps wheels from spinning. 4-lo has much better engine braking and keeps things under control. ![]() 4-lo and lock (Trailhawk) keeps things moving forward.ģ. Steep inclines may stop the vehicle but so far haven't stopped the wheels from turning.ġ. I never had a situation with the TH/E with the 2.0L Turbo where it was all engine and no go. I have to agree with Here's my experience:
